Birthday boy

In honor of what would have been Matthew's 24th birthday, today I baked Maida Heatter's Queen Mother's Cake, a chocolate cake made with ground almonds instead of flour, with a luscious chocolate ganache frosting. We'll cut a piece for the birthday boy. Happy birthday, Matt!
